Geoffrey Lagadec, Jaya the Cat
Life
My name is Geoffrey Lagadec. I’m originally from the south shore of Boston, Massachusetts. Ever since an abbreviated departure from the United States scholastic system in the early 90’s, I’ve dedicated my life to traveling far and wide over this insane planet of ours, making an in-depth study of it’s hotels, taverns, and 24 hour breakfast joints. After a chance encounter between a controlled substance and an acoustic guitar, I developed a passion for putting myself on display in front of a microphone. In time, I found my way to Amsterdam, where my friend and drummer David ‘The Germ ‘ Germain and I joined forces with some of the local talent and have since been maintaining our little all by producing and playing the finest Reggae and Punk music we're able to slap together in the little space we can find between margarita parties, romantic boat rides, and extended vacations to topless beaches.
Visions and plans for the future
As working musicians we endeavor to do just that. Keep working at expanding our fan base through constant touring and the odd release of a new album. I look at our band as a small business. The hour and a half you spend on stage each night is pretty damn thrilling, but in the time spent in between that you face the same challenges any entrepreneur does. My hopes for the future are to be able to continue juggling the working and performing sides of music, and to never have to face employment in a gas station or kitchen again.
Geoffrey Lagadec over Total In Support
Total In Support have helped us maintain the balance between the business and creative sides of our lives, and have been a valuable asset in dealing with immigration, taxes, and all the sundry insanity the Dutch government will throw at you to keep you on your toes while living here. Martijn and his very excellent staff mix both a relaxed attitude and a high standard of professionalism, which has removed the stress from the administrative side of things, and allows us to concentrate on what we love. Making music.
